Gene Liebel has over 10 years of professional experience in Website Usability. He works as Director of User Experience at HUGE, an award-winning strategic design firm in New York, where he oversees the design and usability testing of usable websites for JetBlue, IKEA, Scholastic, and other companies.
Experience:
Prior to joining HUGE, Gene was Vice President, Product Management at Silverpop Systems, responsible for the design and usability of all products. Silverpop creates enterprise level email marketing software; customers include Cisco, Buy.com, CNN, and Volvo. Gene is a member of the Usability Professional's Association and has participated in hundreds of user tests involving websites of all sizes and purposes.

My favorite thing about usability is how it keeps the focus on human side of web design, as opposed to just the technology side. And no matter how many usability tests I've witnessed over the years, I'm always fascinated (and often humbled) by the way real users react to a website or software application.
