Microsoft Visio is a robust tool which allows you make detailed wireframes without much training. Here are some tips and shortcuts to help speed up your wireframe-making process:

1. Using Backgrounds

    Visio allows for the creation of backgrounds that serve as a kind of bottom layer for your wireframes. You can use backgrounds to create stationery for all of your wireframes and you can nest backgrounds into eachother.

2. Inserting a Field

    Fields are automatically updated text that is associated with some piece of data. From automatically updated dates and times to file names and file sizes, fields can display important data with virtually no work.

3. Using Shapes

    Using shapes, you can have professional and clean wireframes that are easy to read and understand.

4. Creating Groups

    Grouping items together allows you to quickly move large chunks around the page while you’re designing.

    These shortcuts will help you navigate around your workspace and align objects faster.
