While you can access every feature in Visio using the keyboard, here are some shortcuts that I have found most useful:
- Quick zoom – hold down the CTRL key and scroll. This will allow you to quickly zoom in and out. This shortcut works on most Microsoft products. It also works on most web browsers as a means of growing and shrinking text.
- Quick horizontal scroll – hold down the SHIFT key and scroll. This will allow you to scroll to the left and right quickly.
- Quick copy – holding down CTRL, select and drag the element you want to copy. This will create an exact copy of the shape (or group of shapes) that you selected.
- Maintain alignment – holding down SHIFT, select and drag the item (or group) that you want to move. This will move the shape along the same vertical or horizontal axis as its original position.
- Quick align – Select the items you want to align and press the F8 key. This will bring up a dialog box which allows choose how you want to align the shapes: top, bottom, left, right, and center alignments.
