Focus Group

From About.com

Definition: Focus Groups are user testing techniques where subjects are involved in a collaborative discussion. This method takes advantage of the information gained from the interaction of the group. Focus Groups are also frequently used in marketing research, though there are some key differences. Focus Groups held for usability reasons are more intent on functional needs, whereas those held for marketing reasons are more intent on perception, desire, and branding.
